Facial Reflexology

Facial Reflexology is a complementary therapy which is completely safe for all age groups.  It improves the way you look and feel by addressing the factors that influence your general state of health and wellbeing.

Your face is richly supplied with nerves and blood vessels. The brain is close to the face so stimulating the facial pressure points takes the shortest possible route to the control centre of the body to restore your health imbalances.

The whole surface of the face is treated (apart from the eyelids). After treatment, the blood circulation, lymphatic drainage system, muscle tone and nerves are unblocked and improved.  Treating the face in this way enhances feeling of wellbeing; this is very good for a glowing complexion!

Facial Reflexology is a complementary therapy that works on all aspects of an individual: emotional, physical, mental and spiritual.  Therefore any imbalance of the body can benefit.  It helps health issues as diverse as menopausal and hormonal problems, digestive disorders including IBS, migraines, allergies, hyperactivity, insomnia, sexual dysfunction, dyslexia and muscular aches and strains, even learning and behavioural issues in children.

The treatment is deeply relaxing. In everyday life, you build up tension in the muscles of your face which permeate the entire body.  We use our face muscles hundreds of times a day in order to laugh, eat, talk, frown, and when we express or suppress our emotions.  The deep releasing strokes of face reflexology will steadily dissipate all accumulation of facial muscle tension, which will improve your sense of wellbeing.

Each session begins with the stimulation of facial acupuncture points to activate the nerves, lymphatic and blood circulation of the face.  Then a series of different treatment procedures which involve face maps (these represent your 12 major Chinese energy meridians), takes place, working on physical and psychological levels.  Through these maps, the brain and nerve system is stimulated and the healing process beings.  Cranial lines and points can be used if appropriate. A treatment normally last from 45 to 50 minutes. The benefits continue for some days.

The therapy is safe for all ages including children, who respond particularly quickly, and for those with disabilities. The only tools the Reflexologist uses on the face, are the fingertips, and essential oils. At Mountain View we use pure Rose oil to achieve a deep massage of the face maps.  Rose oil contains very high levels of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids, which helps skin tissue regeneration, increases skin elasticity and also has anti-bacterial properties.  Rose Oil can be used on any skin type, and also helps to relieve symptoms of eczema and dermatitis, and reduces the visible signs of ageing.

Facial Reflexology is a gentle non-invasive treatment.
