Meditation

Meditation becomes an obvious solution as soon as we take a look at how our minds work. Even a few minutes of introspection will reveal an uncontrollable stream of images, thoughts, fears and anticipations all swimming in a changing sea of emotions. This incessant activity is associated with chronic tension, which can keep us awake at night, lead to weight gain, cause illness, depression and so on.

Meditation is the way to regain peace of mind. It requires a commitment to give yourself the time and place to be in your own space, a much calmer, more peaceful space.

There are many tools that aid meditation: candles and incense not only cleanse but also create the mood. Crystals and music are also very good healing and meditative tools.

At Mountain View, we teach simple techniques, which will help unleash your mental powers and give you a platform for gaining health, wealth, good relationships etc.

A simple meditation

Find a quiet place, preferably the same place at the same time every day. Give yourself about 15-20 mins to do the meditation.

Choose the process of breath as an object. Sit and close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths remembering not to lift your shoulders. Be aware that your feet are flat on the floor and feel the gravity pulling your feet to Mother Earth. Inhale slowly and exhale slowly keeping your mind on the breathing. Allow any thoughts which arise, to pass without holding on to them. Keep breathing in and out. This will start to calm your mind. After a short time bring yourself back into the room and thank Mother Earth. Have a cold glass of water.

It is not advisable to meditate on a full stomach.

‘I have been meditating daily for many years; this is the way to simply create a place of surrender and acceptance.  Some day’s guidance is clear - bringing calmness, stillness and lot of love. Other days I get nothing; this is just the way it is!  In the beginning I chanted, then I found it helpful to listen to guided meditations, and now I just focus on stillness or words.....love, peace, abundance or I focus on objects...the sun, sea, sand, trees, roses, our world, mother earth.’  Anita

‘Just like Anita, I have been meditating for many years. One can learn to cut out the sounds of the external world as well as your own thoughts. As you concentrate on breathing gently, the momentum of the breath will bring internal calm and peace. I am more ‘awake’ in my daily life. Meditation provides a new experience every day.’ Michael
